Why wwH.lincoln.ac.uk
The sub-domain looks like a typing error on the posters as it is far too similar to WWW. Something like feedback.lincoln.ac.uk would be much more effective.

We (online services team) choose it. It's supposed to stand for Who Why How. I agree with Jame's point and I think feedback.lincoln.ac.uk would be a better choice.

I agree. Can whoever chose this please contact me...

Joss Winn is working on a JISC bid that will help us to formalise our URL naming strategy for all online assets. Whether the bid is succcessful or not will not affect this process. If anyone wishes to use sub-domains of lincoln.ac.uk please contact me first. webteam@lincoln.ac.uk
Thanks.
Also see:

We'll take a look at possible alternatives, and then get in touch to see what fits in to the planned changes.

1A student pointed out "wtf.lincoln.ac.uk" also points here - this is much nicer and more easily remembered. -

2WTF stands for "Windows Text File" which we is the format we use for backing up and analysing feedback.
Likewise lost.lincoln.ac.uk is a server which we use for development but we can't find it (however it does respond to ping) -

Thanks for that guys, that now makes a lot of sense name wise. Weird that lost would have just disappeared like that. Actually now realising the irony of what has been said about "lost" subdomain disappearing.

No need to apologise, its fine Alex. Slow enough day here on this end too. I'm well used to inconsistent naming policies in universities and my various work places at this stage. Often find myself in the same situation, explaining why we chose one suggested name for a subdomain over another one.

Hope all is going well for you and the guys up there in ICT today.
